Song of the Week #40 "Golden Brown" by The Stranglers

I know hardly anyone responds to my song of the week, but I love music too much not to put awesome tunes on my bloggy.

I've loved this song since I was a little girl. I later found out it's supposed to be about heroin. Who knows? It's still mysterious and beautiful. I like this orchestral version even if a different singer is singing it.

To the two people out there who may play this - enjoy!

  1. I love that song! I still have the record, yes record, not cd.I had no idea it was about heroine...but it's still beautiful! I will put it in my Ipod. I keep forgetting all the songs from my teenage years!

  2. Bless you! I was going to put Coeur de Pirate. What do you think of them? I like the singer's voice - so girly and French. I heard they're huge in Quebec.
    Hope you're well,

  3. I'm such a bad french Quebecer! I had to look for them on the web! I had never heard of Coeur de Pirate....I don't don't listen to french radio or watch french tv....Let's just say that my friends think I'm a weirdo! I so not identify with french canadian culture. On the group...I think it sounded really french from France...a cross between Vanessa Paradis and Brigitte Bardot!

    Take care,
